It's tough for the Australian squad to break new ground.

The greatest achievements have been successfully scaled.

This is the squad that has claimed seven Cricket World Cups, along with six more T20 titles, and previously enjoyed nearly four years undefeated in 50-over cricket.

The secondary achievements, those for the peak baggers, are the only things left for a squad that has accomplished all there is.

The fact it required until Sunday's victory by three wickets over India for them to achieve their initial ODI chase over 300, taking back their record for the highest in women's cricket's 50-over format, is, frankly, a compliment to the pitchers that have worn canary yellow over the past 50 years.

It's difficult for their batsmen to maintain a record if never given the possibility.

In the end, the result of Australia giving up 330 runs was captain Alyssa Healy receiving an opportunity to produce her newest gem.

"A chance to take the field and face the challenge with her and simply enjoy myself in that aspect, sort of got me going," said Healy.

She got to fifty in 35 deliveries - her quickest at the global tournament - and her hundred in 84 deliveries while she attacked short-pitched balls, hitting 21 fours and three sixes.

Once she was removed the team needed 66 additional runs at one run per ball - an achievable target now needing a comfortable finish.

"Chasing 330 runs is unfamiliar ground so I am glad we have the belief to accomplish that now," added Healy.

"Preferably we shouldn't have to do it another time but, should it happen, we believe we can succeed."

These statements will be the ultimate thing rival teams at this tournament want to hear.

In recent days a feeling they will win from any position has become more firm - this victory coming after success over Pakistan by 107-run victory despite being 76-7 at a certain moment.

Next Australia play Bangladesh before a match against longtime competitors England in Indore in a week and a half, by which point a semi-final place may probably be guaranteed.
