Fresh Details Emerge Concerning the Location of the Bodies of Rob and Michele Reiner Remains
Recent details have emerged regarding the tragic passing of acclaimed film director Rob Reiner and visual artist Michele Singer Reiner, whose remains were discovered at their residence property on Sunday.
A Initial Report
According to a report quoting a confidential source, a massage therapist arriving for an appointment first raised the alarm after not being able to enter the residence. This individual then contacted the couple's daughter, Romy Reiner, who lives in the vicinity.
Upon entering the house, Romy came upon her father's body. Accounts indicate she then exited the property overwhelmed with grief, unaware at that moment that her mother's body was there as well. Her roommate who had gone with her then dialed 911. Afterward, first responders found Michele Singer Reiner's body.
Legal Developments
The police have charged the couple's 32-year-old son, Nick Reiner, with two counts of premeditated murder, including the alleged use of a deadly weapon, reportedly a knife. He is presently detained and is ineligible for bail.
Disputed Reports
The confidential informant also disputed several previously reported details. The source indicated that while Romy Reiner told first responders that her brother Nick lived in a guesthouse on the estate, she did not point to him as a person of interest at that juncture.
The source also refuted widely reported notions that Rob and Michele Singer Reiner had been especially "worried" about Nick's conduct in the preceding period. The source claimed the family was "familiar with working through [Nick's] problems together."
This correction applies to reports of reportedly "unpredictable" conduct by Nick at a event held by Conan O'Brien the evening prior to the bodies were found. Although the source said they were unable to confirm whether Rob had "chastised" his son at the party, they said that suggestions of a "heated argument" between the two were not correct.
Ongoing Inquiry Timeline
According to law enforcement sources, the medical examiner had not yet established at that point whether the Reiners died late on Saturday or on Sunday. Some accounts noted the condition of their bodies suggested they had been deceased for a number of hours.
Nick Reiner was arrested at around 9:30 p.m. on Sunday in the neighbourhood of Exposition Park, some 15 miles from the family home. He was set to have a hearing on Tuesday, but his legal counsel, Alan Jackson, said his client had not received medical clearance and would not be present until Wednesday at the earliest.
