Beloved Performer Pat Finn, a versatile actor, Famed For Parts in Seinfeld and The Middle, Has Died at Age 60.
Stateside performer Finn, who was seen in popular TV shows like Friends, Seinfeld and The Middle, has died at 60 years old.
The comedic improv actor succumbed at his home in Los Angeles, California on Monday having undergone cancer treatment since 2022, according to reports.
"Pat saw everyone as a friend - solely future friends he had yet to meet," his loved ones stated in a announcement.
They continued that he had "lived his life fully - with zest and passion".
A Prolific Career on Screen
Finn's first television role was on a show starring George Wendt in 1995, where he portrayed the lead character's sibling.
He also had a regular part on Murphy Brown from 1995 to 1997.
He starred as the character Joe Mayo in "Seinfeld" in the late 90s, portraying a social organizer known to delegate tedious tasks to his guests.
In the end of the 90s and start of the 2000s, he had guest spots on numerous hit series, such as:
- The King of Queens
- Friends
- That '70s Show
- House, M.D.
Finn was perhaps best known for portraying Bill Norwood in The Middle, starring in eight seasons of the show over nearly a decade.
His cinematic roles include "It's Complicated" and Santa Paws 2: The Santa Pups.
Beyond the Screen
Beyond his acting parts, Finn was deeply involved in improvisational comedy and served as an educator at the University of Colorado, where he was a professor.
He was part of a comedy group of six known as "Beer Shark Mice".
"Finn taught, supported, and inspired many learners throughout the years and it's nearly impossible to find anyone anywhere who has anything negative to say about him," his family wrote.
Offering condolences, peer Richard Kind noted there was "nobody more kind, gentle, and humorous, grounded individual you could encounter".
"Consistently upbeat, making those around him better and funnier. A wonderful father and man," Kind wrote publicly.
Pat Finn is survived by his spouse Donna, his three kids, and his mother, father, and brothers/sisters.
